Our manufacturer combines the ancient secrets with modern technology to create the finest quality silk filled comforters.
Silk worm cocoons are soaked in hot water
to soften the gluey substance holding the
delicate threads together. Once the end of the
thread is exposed, workers combine four to
eight silk filaments together and machinery
will unravel and twist into one strand of silk.
Finally, it will be woven into silk fabric.
Workers delicately examine and sort the cocoons, using only the finest to ensure quality silk filled
comforters. The silk making process is labor instensive and very hands on.
The final product. Notice the silver white scheen which depicts the highest quality
of 100 % Mulberry long silk. Hundreds of delicate layers are needed to create one silk filled comforter. The outer covering is soft white cotton. These comforters should last years if properly taken care of. A duvet cover must be put over the silk filled comforter. this will protect the silk filled comforter from dust, make up, pet hair and dander, sticky hands, and body oils. The duvet cover can be washed as needed. Silk can be dry cleaned if necessary but a yearly gentle shaking will suffice. Do not wash them as water breaks down the delicate fibers and it begins to lose it fine qualities.
A qualilty product manufactured just for you.
Four workers place themselves at each corner of the bed form. Woven silk fabric about the size of a shower hat is placed in the center of the form. The workers then stretch the silk piece until it is the desired size. This process is repeated until the desired thickness is achieved.
Our company only sells the "all season" weight.
This was a deliberate company decision because individual body temperatures vary, household thermostats are set differently, and geographical locations have a variety of climents. An "all season" weight takes the confusion out of ordering. Meanwhile, silk has an amazing property and seems to adjust to your body's needs.
